It’s been a while since I’ve posted and so many things have been happening in my life. My family was struck by two deaths on August 19, my mother and my niece. Neither death was related. It was just cruel fate that took them on the same day, hundreds of miles apart. Then on October 18, my mother’s last remaining brother passed away after a long illness. It has been a tough time for me and my family.
I am now getting back to something resembling a normal life. It has been therapeutic to work on the comic again and we take up where we left off more than two months ago. The story resumes in the Warlocks Coffee Shop in Indianapolis, Indiana.
I want to express my gratitude for all the kind words and well wishes I have received over the past two months. There are a lot of very nice people out there and I am blessed that so many of them read my humble comic. Thank you all so very much.
I’m glad you’re doing well enough to post a new page. Please look after yourself.
Ken, it’s been a difficult time but it’s getting easier to cope. Family, friends and readers like you have helped. Many, many thanks.
Take care of yourself, J.
In regards to this page: WHAT?!?
Well you foreshadowed something big. However, this is still a bigger shock than I expected.
Keep on keeping on. When my mother died, for nearly a year after I found myself thinking “I’ll have to tell mom about this the next time I call her.”
Aehoyn: I’m doing okay. My wife has been so supportive through all this. It also helps having good friends and caring readers.
Your reaction is pretty much Danielle’s.
Curtis: I’ve had at least three dreams with my mom in them since she died. Nothing special happened in the dreams. It was just day to day kind of stuff like when she was alive. I didn’t wake up distressed or anything like that. Not sure what to make of it but it hasn’t been upsetting. I have dreams like that with my dad and he’s been gone since 2006. I guess the two of them just want to stay in touch.
